The Position
The Director of Finance provides financial direction and oversight to the organization including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance. Serves as a member of the management team that establishes and implements policies and plans to meet the short and long-term objectives of the organization. Facilitates the Finance committee and works closely with the Chief Executive Director to develop and implement financial strategies that support Habitat’s mission and goals and the organization’s strategic plan to ensure operational success.

- Have experience and expertise related to nonprofit financial auditing.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Koinonia Farm and the Fund for Humanity is the birthplace of Habitat for Humanity. Founded in 1942, Koinonia Farm, a small, interracial Christian farming community, aims to promote racial reconciliation and affordable housing. The concept of “partnership housing” was developed here, allowing those in need of shelter to work alongside volunteers to build homes.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree in business administration or a Certified Public Accounting certificate are preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in finance and accounting. Experience in the nonprofit sector is preferred.
