Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional intelligence professional to join our senior team as an Intelligence Director. The successful candidate will become part of a world class open source intelligence (OSINT) company that is renowned for providing clients with granular information through nuanced research and investigations. The depth of understanding provided by our teams allows our clients to understand risk in areas around the world, and operate effectively in unpredictable environments.

Reporting to the CEO you will work as part of a team to define, initiate, develop and maintain all collection and reporting capabilities, structures and outputs across the business. As a key member of Praetorian’s senior management team, the role will shape activities and have a core function engaging with clients to win, deliver and retain business. The position is wholly intelligence focussed, and success will be defined by the end-delivery of high-impact intelligence understanding in formats aligned for client consumption.

As a candidate you will have extensive experience of operational intelligence environments; demonstrating leadership roles, production capability and cross discipline management. You will likely have experience of working within or alongside the UK intelligence community and / or leading commercial intelligence capabilities. You will have strong experience in requirements management and client liaison. OSINT experience would be a significant advantage, as will a close understanding of developments in technical intelligence collection.

Application of your knowledge within a commercial intelligence environment will enable you to understand client needs, translating rapidly advancing collection techniques to C-Suite level clients, and tailoring collection and production towards their needs. The ability to identify business development opportunities within these interactions will require someone with diplomacy, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Leadership within the role is critical. We work hard to create an inclusive environment where our staff are valued and outputs are measured. You will be leading a team of Deputy Directors, who will rely on your thorough understanding of thematic and geographic areas to direct their collection efforts, both in anticipation of, and in response to, client requirements.

As a senior manager you will work with the COO to initiate new projects, leading on all aspects of planning through to delivery; this will include budget responsibility. Programme and project work is often dynamic, with continuous stakeholder engagement. Your experience will help drive Praetorian’s strategy; working at the heart of business as usual and business for the future. This is an exciting role, that will demand a lot from your experience; but is rewarding in terms of output, and critically, the teams you will be working with.

If you are an enthusiastic individual, with extensive intelligence experience and are looking to join a business of like-minded people, we will be delighted to hear from you.
