Are you an experienced Water Treatment Engineer looking for your next challenge? A prestigious building services provider are looking for a Water Treatment Engineer to join their team permanently. This role is based at a largecommercial office building in the City of London, offering an excellent environment for career growth and stability.
Role Overview:
As the Water Treatment Engineer, you will take full ownership of all water treatment systems on-site. This will include the operation, maintenance, and compliance of water systems, with a particular focus on cooling towers. You will ensure that the building’s water systems are managed effectively, safely, and in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Water Treatment Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of water treatment systems, including cooling towers and closed systems
- Conduct regular water sampling, testing, and monitoring to ensure compliance with water hygiene and Legionella regulations.
- Implement and manage effective water treatment programs to prevent scaling, corrosion, and bacterial growth.
Cooling Tower Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and descaling of cooling towers.
- Monitor and maintain chemical dosing systems to ensure optimal water quality.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to cooling tower operation and efficiency.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure the site complies with all relevant legislation, including ACOP L8 and HSG274.
- Maintain accurate records of water testing, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
- Provide detailed reports and updates to the site management team
What We re Looking For:
- Experience:
- Proven background in water treatment, with substantial experience working with cooling towers.
- Knowledge of closed-circuit systems and Legionella management.
- Qualifications:
- Relevant water treatment qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQs, or equivalent).
- Understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274, and other water hygiene legislation.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot water treatment issues.
- Excellent record-keeping and reporting abilities.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
