Job Title: NQ Family Solicitor (Legal Aid)
Salary: Circa 35K – 43K DOE
Hours: Full Time.
Location: Gloucester
Responsibilities:
You will have a high focus on Legal Aid files managing a varied caseload of family law matters such as Childcare and Domestic abuse. You will provide clients with clear guidance and help navigate them through the process.
Drafting Legal documents, ensuring all records are accurate, kept up to date and in line with compliance and regulations. Maintain high standards of case management and adhering to legal aid protocols
Working with the wider team in a supportive environment to deliver excellent services and client care.
Representing children and guardians, focusing on child protection and welfare cases under both private and public law.
Managing a full caseload of complex care proceedings, collaborating with social workers, family members, and court-appointed guardians to prioritise the best interests of the child.
Experience Required:
Solicitor or equivalent – NQ +
Children Panel/Children Law Accreditation is ideal but not essential
A track record of success in care proceedings with strong knowledge and relationships in the local area.
Proven experience managing a caseload in family and care proceedings, with private law experience being advantageous.
Experience handling sensitive guardian cases.
Proficient knowledge and experience with Legal Aid and Case Management Systems.
Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey complex legal issues with empathy and professionalism.
