Overview: My client is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join and lead their growing project team. The company has built its success on strong client relationships and high-quality service delivery. This role presents an opportunity for a dynamic and driven individual to further develop the project side of the business.
The ideal candidate will have proven project management experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a technical background to support the project team's day-to-day requirements. This hybrid role requires regular communication with clients and engineers on-site to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Attendance at the office at least one day per week is necessary for liaising with senior management.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Project Handover & Planning: Receive project handovers from sales. Update and brief project engineers on requirements. Deliver point schedules and design operations at the start of each project.
- Project Execution & Delivery: Establish and maintain project schedules in line with client expectations. Develop and track BMS project programmes to align with the main project timeline. Liaise with clients to ensure project expectations and contractual obligations are met. Manage subcontractors, issue work orders, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Budget & Resource Management: Identify, cost, and manage variations in project scope. Control budgets to achieve profit and loss targets. Allocate resources efficiently and explore cost-effective solutions.
- Team Leadership & Development: Support and develop the project engineering team. Identify training needs and ensure continuous professional development. Provide weekly risk assessments and project reports to senior management.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: Ensure live tracking of projects for real-time analysis. Maintain weekly department reports and attend monthly management meetings.
Experience: Proven experience in a project management role. Ideally, a minimum of 5+ yearsβ experience in a similar role. Ideally, 3+ years working in the BMS industry.
Skills & Aptitudes: Strong organisational and management skills. Excellent client communication and diplomacy. Strong IT proficiency. Proven track record of project delivery. Experience managing profit & loss (P&L) is desirable. Knowledge of BMS and associated systems is beneficial.
Personal Qualities: Strong leadership, delegation, and problem-solving skills. Team-building ability with a proactive and accountable approach. Enthusiasm, integrity, and the ability to motivate others. Confidence, empathy, and tolerance are desirable traits.
Qualifications: Relevant project management qualifications. Electrical or mechanical qualifications are desirable. Trend or similar BMS experience would be advantageous. Relevant managerial training would be beneficial.
Circumstances: Must hold a full UK driving licence. Must have the permanent right to work in the UK. Living within the M25 is desirable.
