Materials Management Specialist

OBM are currently recruiting for a experienced Materials Management Specialist for our client based in Aberdeen on a contract basis for 12 – 18 months. About the Role: As a Materials Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless material control support for offshore assets. Your expertise will drive the success of project scopes, turnaround operations, and ongoing production activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive material management support for offshore projects, modifications, and turnarounds. Act as the key liaison between onshore and offshore personnel, external suppliers, and warehousing providers to ensure timely material delivery. Offer real-time updates on material availability using ERP systems, ensuring transparency for stakeholders. Participate in daily asset and planning meetings, providing status updates on materials. Monitor contractor fabrication plans and expedite delivery of urgent materials to meet construction deadlines. Resolve material queries, manage supply chain issues, and conduct system interrogations. Provide operational guidance to onshore and offshore teams. Coordinate spares handover from projects to operations, ensuring system data accuracy and stock management. Experience Required: Experience in materials and inventory management, with expertise in operational planning and shutdowns (preferably in the oil and gas sector). Proficiency in SAP MM Module and Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
