Electrical Technician – 12 Month Contract, Dimlington
Working as part of our clients onshore Maintenance team, the primary focus of this position is to carry out Electrical maintenance on all aspects of the electrical installation at our clients Dimlington gas terminal. You will be working alone or with colleagues as required to complete tasks effectively, safely and with due regard to the environment and the security of the terminal.
This is position operates on a shift rotation of 7 days on 7 days off, 12 hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
â Carry out maintenance on all Electrical equipment to the relevant Preventative Maintenance Routines (PMR’s) in Maximo
â Carry out EX maintenance on all EX Electrical equipment
â Complete work orders clearly to a high standard, including as much relevant information as possible. Raise any necessary follow ups in Maximo, including as much relevant information as possible
â Complete any required P forms for adding or removing maintenance to equipment
â Take part in weekly planning meetings to help form the plan for the next shift
â Attend and contribute to the daily morning and evening wash up meetings
â Raise any necessary Work Control Certificates (WCC’s) for non-routine tasks, including level 2 WCC’s
â Raise any necessary Isolation Control Certificates (ICC’s) for both electrical tasks and tasks for other trades that require an isolation
â Produce switching procedures for any High Voltage (HV) switching
â Carry out switching including isolations and de-isolations of low and high voltage electrical equipment
â Respond to breakdowns as required
â Liaise with Terminal Electrical Engineer to resolve more complex issues
â Respond to requests for ICC’s to be isolated or de-isolated
â Take part in planning and executing any work associated with the annual slowdowns /shutdown
â Organise and liaise with vendors as required
â Order spare parts and materials as required including raising Purchase Requests (PR’s) in SAP
â Testing and checking of temporary equipment when it is brought onto the Installation
â Testing and maintenance of portable equipment, and for the regular calibration of electrical test equipment
â To provide the necessary practical operational training and mentoring for candidates working towards their assessment as an Authorised Electrical Person (AEP)
â Maintain any registered dossiers of site drawings
â Carry out WCC and ICC audits
â Maintain good lines of communications between themselves, colleagues and management
â Ensure environmental hazards are identified and managed in Task risk assessments. Operate and maintain effective controls of environmental aspects as per Environmental Management System (EMS). Respond to unplanned events with environmental consequences. Assure competence with respect to environmental responsibilities
