Job description Overview The Learning and Development Advisor plays a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of employees within the organisation. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programmes that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and mentoring skills. A commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning is essential. Main Responsibilities Assist with the development of a Training strategy for the business Identify training and development needs within the business through job analysis, job descriptions, appraisal schemes, regular consultation with business managers and HR Department Managers Design, introduce and expand our training and delivery portfolio based on the needs of the organisation, emerging trends and individual development Working with the Management teams and HR, produce training literature and programmes that are key to business success and deliver ‘real’ value Analyse the cost/ benefit of planned programmes. Maintain close alignment with the HR budget regularly assessing the return on investment of training delivered Support the development of an effective induction programmes for all levels across the organisation. Measure effectiveness Devise individual learning engagement plans linked to business objectives and Driver retention Produce/support the production of training materials for in-house ‘maintenance’ courses Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers Support and contribute to the roll out of the annual engagement surveys Ensure any statutory training requirements are met Assist line managers and Driver/HR trainers identify training needs for individuals and groups Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, attending meetings and relevant courses Have an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, be involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning training interventions Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and present this research to senior managers Manage the Apprenticeship scheme and Apprenticeship Levy Manage our intern programme, identifying suitable candidates and training intervention Manage other placement programmes as appropriate Contribute to the development of the annual HR Budget Support Driver CPC – legislative training requirement and external accreditation Recruitment * Oversee the resourcing requirements across the business * Provide support as necessary to Line Management recruitment * Upload recruitment advertising externally to ensure ALG sources the best talent available * Monitors and constantly reduces the costs of the recruitment processes * Develops the social media communication strategy for different job profiles and functions in the organization * Supports job interviews for managerial and support staff positions (or key jobs in Abbey Logistics Group) Job knowledge Experience * Excellent Interpersonal skills * Creativity, the ability to offer new ideas * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Good problem-solving and negotiation skills * Good time-keeping skills to enable the effective management of training schedules * personal commitment to improving your own knowledge and skills. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Hands on * Networking skills * Ability to work under pressure * Analytical skills * Excellent Time Management and Organisational skills * Social Media skills/ Knowledge * Excellent Microsoft Office * Training development and delivery skills * Good Logistics Industry Knowledge Qualifications * Educated to Graduate Level * CIPD or equivalent experience desirable * A full clean UK Driving License * LGV Driver and support staff recruitment, training and development skills gained in Logistics (desirable)
