VGC Group are looking for experienced Steel Fixers to start on a project in Coventry. This contract is available to start on 07/07/2025 and we can offer up to 2 years to a successful candidate.

Your role as a Steel Fixer will consist of:
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type, quantity, and placement of rebar.
- Cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using cutting and bending tools or machinery.
- Assemble rebar cages and mats as per the project requirements.
- Position and secure rebar in concrete forms using wire, clips, or welds.
- Place spacers and chairs to ensure the rebar is positioned correctly and maintains the required spacing.
- Tie rebar together using wire and pliers to form the reinforcement structure.
- Inspect rebar installations to ensure they conform to specifications and codes.
- Identify and correct any issues or discrepancies in the reinforcement layout.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Based in Coventry, remuneration for this role is GBP22.04 per hour, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
