Forklift Operator

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This role is crucial in ensuring that our shipping and receiving processes run smoothly, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.

Duties

• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load and unload materials from lorries.

• Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.

• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify any mechanical issues and perform basic repairs as needed.

• Handle heavy lifting of materials, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain safety.

• Assist in materials handling, including sorting, stacking, and storing products in designated areas.

• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.

• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.

• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes is highly desirable.

• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.

• Basic maths skills for inventory management and documentation purposes.

• Experience with materials handling techniques is an advantage.

• A valid forklift operator certification is required.
