Job Title: SMT Technician

Location: Portsmouth

Job Type: Contract with potential of permanent

Hours: 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: £13 to £14 per hour PAYE depending on experience

This is a great opportunity for a SMT Technician to join on a contract basis with potential of permanent.

Required Experience:

• SMT programming, setting and operating experience
• Able to work independently
• Reliable

Main Responsibilities:

• Operating and maintaining the SMT Pick & Place machines and observing stringent health & safety requirements.
• Operating screen-printing machine
• Programming and setup of P&P machines
• Programming and maintaining reflow oven with use of a mole
• PCBA assembly involving SMT and PTH soldering
• Cable assembly, involving the use of crimp tools
• Electromechanical assembly
• Working from customer BOMs/drawings to ensure that manufacturing is completed to required standards.
• PCBA rework

Experience / Skills / Qualifications:

• Ability to operate Pick & Place machine essential.
• Off-line programming of P&P machines (Juki etc)
• Strong problem solving / diagnostic skills.
• Excellent component recognition / knowledge.
• Ability to work with fine pitch components under a microscope.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and clearly communicate technical information.
• Ability to prioritize a busy workload.
• Ability to excel under pressure.
