We are looking for a dedicated Platform Support Engineer to ensure the operational health, performance, and security of a hybrid server environment. In this role, you will manage both Windows and Linux platforms, applying patches, enforcing configuration standards, and supporting core infrastructure services such as Active Directory and SQL environments.
You'll also contribute to automation efforts using Ansible and Terraform, helping to streamline server maintenance and enhance consistency across the environment. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional focused on infrastructure stability, automation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and monitor hybrid Windows/Linux environments for performance, security, and compliance
- Apply patching and configuration standards using tools such as SCCM, WSUS, and Red Hat Satellite
- Support and troubleshoot Active Directory, SQL Server, and critical platform services
- Develop and manage automation scripts and workflows using Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support infrastructure upgrades and issue resolution
- Contribute to root cause analysis and implement preventative measures
- Document support procedures and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response efforts as needed
- Windows Server administration and support
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux or equivalent Linux server support
- Configuration and patching using SCCM, WSUS, and Red Hat Satellite
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory architecture and troubleshooting
- Automation with Ansible, Terraform, and/or Scripting languages (eg PowerShell, Python)
- Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Firewalls)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
- Exposure to virtualisation platforms (VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus
- Certifications such as MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, or ITIL desirable
