A hugely exciting role for an experienced Logistics & Customer Service Manager has come to market in preparation for the eagerly awaited release of Lochlea's Core Range later this year. Lochlea is an independent Scotch malt producer in the heart of Ayrshire who grows and harvests their own barley, distils it, casks it, and matures it onsite, producing something traceable, unique and delicious. They are looking for an experienced Logistics & Customer Service Manager to ensure seamless processes from cask to consumer.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a key position within the team, responsible for managing the entire logistics operation, ensuring their whisky reaches customers efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities- Dry goods procurement: Identify and source glass, corks, capsules, labels, boxes etc. Responsible for regular competitive tendering process and ensuring we hold stock to meet the Sales and Bottling Plans.
- Bottling: Work with our partners to secure bottling slots when required, generate detailed bottling instructions, and ensure correct quantities of each dry good material arrive in time. QC Bottling, manage any issues arising, book and manage all transport and liaising with key stakeholders in the business.
- New Product Development: Active Stakeholder in the NPD process, attending weekly meetings to ensure on time efficient delivery of new stock.
- Bond / Warehousing: Control and track principally cased goods stock (and dry goods) from suppliers and bottlers to Lochlea. Responsible for the management and detailed recording of cased goods movements into and out of the bonded warehouse.
- Order Processing: For each customer and import partner PO, check inventory, update system, arrange and coordinate collection from bonded storage to requested site including all relevant documentation.
- Logistics: Day-to-day management of chosen couriers to ensure all deliveries reach their destination in a timely manner to the end customer's satisfaction.
- Customer Service: Professionally handle amendments to logistics for customer orders as they arise, to minimise any delays.
- Export: Confirm all overseas shipments have corresponding paperwork necessary to clear local customs / duties for that market, primarily across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. Liaise with Freight Forwarders for Export uplifts.
- Ad Hoc Requests: Be flexible enough to respond to one-off customer requests, e.g. postage of samples, PoS requirements, stock for tastings / events etc.
- Implement Processes: Adopt existing system and seek to develop this process for the business to use for order processing, goods movement etc, as we continue to grow.
