Part-time contract role: half a day or 1 day per week
Job Purpose:
To contribute to the provision of occupational health services to employees as part of the SEQOHS-accredited Occupational Health (OH) service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake virtual OH consultations as required.
• Provide input to complex and specific cases, particularly those involving occupational illness, ill health retirement, or implications under the Equality Act.
• Provide professional clinical guidance and support to the OH team, including OH technicians, nurses, and nurse managers.
• Provide evidence-based advice in relation to cases involving both employment and health matters.
Expectation of the role holder:
• Practice in accordance with the requirements of Good Medical Practice as published by the General Medical Council (GMC), and in accordance with GMC publications on ethical practice, including GMC Guidance on Confidentiality.
• Maintain a high level of clinical knowledge and application across a wide spectrum of occupational health practices, including current employment law and health and safety legislation.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure clear communication with employees and ensure they are aware of consultation conclusions and advice provided to managers.
• Work within the agreed company OH policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and produce evidence-based OH business reports.
GMC Registered medical practitioner and Accredited Specialist in Occupational Medicine.
• Hold a current licence to practice
• Experience in occupational health within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or related industry is desirable.
