Azile Medical, a leading recruitment agency is seeking dedicated Social Workers to join ECC’s Safeguarding Triage team service, whose focus will be on triaging and managing all new safeguarding concerns referred into Adult Social Care. This is a new innovative approach for Essex County Council and the successful applicant will be part of a team that will shape how we ensure safeguarding is made personal when applying Care Act thresholds.

The role and function of this team is to support effective decision making to ensure section 42 enquiries are progressed appropriately. There will be strong links with all quadrants as section 42 enquiries will remain their responsibility, so there is an opportunity to build strong networks in all areas.

The position will be predominantly home-based but you will be required to attend in County Hall on a Wednesday.

Qualification Requirements:

• Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
• In-depth knowledge of complex cases and The Care Act.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experienced in providing specialist advice to mitigate high levels of risk.
• Ability to make clear decisions and identify/limit risks associated with intervention.
• Essential experience in safeguarding triage.

Mobility Requirements:

• Role involves traveling around Essex and beyond.
• Driving license and car, or ability to meet mobility requirements by other means, is essential.

As part of employment with Essex County Council should your role require a DBS check, you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate. This is an annual subscription and you will be responsible for ensuring this is maintained.
