About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor operating across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. Known for delivering residential infrastructure and groundwork packages for leading housebuilders, they have built an enviable reputation for quality, reliability, and teamwork.

Due to sustained growth and a strong order book, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This role will suit a capable QS with a solid background in residential groundworks or civil engineering who is looking for a stable, progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full commercial cycle on multiple residential groundworks projects.
  • Prepare valuations, variations, cost forecasts, and final accounts.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and payments.
  • Measure works and assess site progress in coordination with site management.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and maintain accurate project records.
  • Liaise closely with clients, site teams, and senior management to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Contribute to tendering and cost estimating when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and contract requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, civil engineering or residential infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organised and detail-focused with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard measurement software.
  • Full UK driving licence.
