MEP Coordinator (Rivet/CAD Expertise)
Position: MEP Coordinator
The MEP Coordinator will work closely with the design and construction teams to ensure effective coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within building projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in MEP systems, along with proficiency in using CAD and/or Revit for drafting, modelling, and coordinating MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
MEP Coordination:
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure the effective integration of MEP systems into building designs.
- Coordinate and resolve any clashes or conflicts in the MEP systems during the design phase using Revit or CAD.
- Review and ensure that MEP drawings comply with industry standards and project specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of MEP shop drawings, installation plans, and coordination drawings.
Revit/CAD Modeling and Drafting:
- Create detailed MEP models using Revit or CAD for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive MEP BIM models, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Support the team in implementing Revit/CAD modeling best practices, including annotation, dimensioning, and design reviews.
Clash Detection and Resolution:
- Perform clash detection and resolution using BIM tools like Navisworks or Revit, ensuring that any conflicts between the MEP systems and other building elements are identified and resolved.
- Work closely with other project team members to implement changes and resolve design issues.
Site and Construction Support:
- Provide technical support to site teams during the installation and construction phases.
- Review site conditions and assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during the construction of MEP systems.
- Maintain clear communication with the project team regarding any design changes and adjustments during the execution phase.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date MEP documentation, including drawing revisions, specifications, and project correspondence.
- Provide regular progress reports to the project manager and assist in ensuring that the project timeline and budget are met.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with all relevant parties to ensure the timely delivery of drawings and other necessary documentation.
- Act as the liaison between the MEP engineering team and the wider project team, ensuring smooth communication throughout the project lifecycle.
