The Freight & Logistics Head Hunter | Midlands | Southampton | Scotland | All position levels
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Duties:
- Looking after a team and ensuring the team achieves productivity and profitability targets.
- Understand the basics of operational systems.
- Share feedback on market trends in European road freight.
- Handle quotations and bookings, and input data for European road freight shipments.
- Collaborate with the European Express team to provide the right level of service for customers.
- Handling quotations and pricing requests for sales team.
- Monitoring live shipments and maintain high customer service standards with clients and suppliers.
- Identify sales opportunities with existing customers and win business.
- Log quotes and follow up to convert them into shipments.
- Work with the customs team to prepare necessary documents for European road freight.
- Actively communicate with customers, agents, and suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers/hauliers to get the best rates and service.
- Join sales and departmental team meetings regularly.
- Support marketing activities like emails, mailshots, and calls. When possible, contact existing customers to check for European road freight needs and cross-sell other services (e.g., Sea and Air, European Express, UK, Customs).
