Job Title: Pre-Construction Manager (MEP/M&E) Job Type: Permanent Location: Central London Salary: £90,000 – £100,000 + package Our client is a reputable, well-established main contractor very well known for delivering outstanding quality work and fostering long-lasting relationships with their clients. They are looking to hire an MEP Pre Construction Manager to join their experienced and successful team. This is a permanent role based in London. The Role: As an MEP Pre Construction Manager within their Design team, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects of the construction projects. Your key duties will include: Pre-Tender Acceptance/Tender Acceptance & Post-Tender Interviews: * Working closely with the Estimating Department to identify risks, innovations, and commercial opportunities related to MEP services. * Assisting in selecting qualified sub-contractors for MEP work. * Reviewing and comparing MEP bids to ensure compliance with specifications and fair commercial assessment. * Ensuring external designers align with commercial, technical, and sustainability standards. * Representing the company during post-tender interviews to convey MEP design intent and buildability considerations. Pre-Construction/Project Delivery: * Managing pre-construction design and planning activities. * Coordinating the integration of construction and MEP services. * Maintaining regular communication with MEP service contractors throughout the project. * Ensuring MEP installations meet project specifications. * Addressing buildability challenges to improve project efficiency. * Working with the client’s MEP specialists to meet their expectations. * Identifying commercial opportunities to benefit the business. * Supporting project compliance, administration, health & safety requirements, and ensuring timely project completion. About You: To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications, skills, and experience: * Relevant qualifications and professional memberships within the Built Environment. * Ability to provide guidance on new technologies and legislation related to M&E systems. * Proven experience in MEP management, including collaboration with contractors and teams. * Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. * Awareness of health and safety risks, along with strong IT proficiency. * A full UK driving licence for site travel.
