Role: Process Improvement Engineer / Production Engineer Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am till 5pm / 7am till 4pm Location: Commutable from Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Thorne, Hatfield, Epworth and surrounding suburbs. Company A leading engineering and manufacturing company are looking for an ambitious and motivated Continuous and Process Improvement Engineer who can lead all process / machinery improvement activities within the factory. It’s an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys getting their teeth into a role where they have the chance to map out and implement improvement initiatives, to help the factory minimise downtime, reduce waste, improve machinery and process output and save money. Responsibilities This role carries responsibility and is hands on, getting out on the factory floor completing investigations, supporting CAPEX projects and providing a presents in your targeted efforts of bringing continuous and process improvements on site. It is rather autonomous and reporting into the Process and Production Manager. Your “core “responsibilities are to manage continuous and process improvement activities to help meet key targets and objectives across the factory, specifically in Product Quality, Machine and Process Efficiency and Waste. You will investigate problem areas, everything from the process, SOP and machinery in the factory, completely mapping it out and providing potential solutions. Overseeing improvement projects from start to finish. Specific; · To support and drive the implementation continuous and process improvement initiatives across the Engineering/Production Department. · To identify, plan and implement improvements to the process equipment, driven by sound data analysis. · Working as a key member of the site senior management team, the Process Engineer is the site expert on all process related subjects including; raw materials, production and quality/process control systems and procedures. · Helping to introduce new material into introduction – how best to do it. · To drive process improvements and product cost improvement projects through to successful delivery, ensuring production performance is not affected negatively. · Gain a full understanding of plant equipment and product types to help optimise changeovers and plant efficiency. · To optimise the Plants process performance and systems to help deliver consistent, repeatable results. · Ensure that best product quality is achieved at all times so that Customer satisfaction and service is never compromised. · Focus on continual improvement and best practice to support the production department and drive positive change. · Responsible for site wide compliance to COSHH regulations, including management of relevant data sheets etc. · Work closely with production and maintenance departments to support collaborative improvement culture and good communication. This includes providing regular training of the site teams in process and quality. · Adhere to all environmental, health and safety UK legislation and higher company standards where appropriate. Requirements · Degree Qualified in Engineering or similar, most considered; chemical, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic or a relevant discipline. · Experienced in a similar role, with an emphasis on process and continuous improvement. · Can provide examples of process and continuous improvements achieved in a factory environment. · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and able to run and facilitate problem solving and bottlenecking/enterprise kaizen team events. · Methodical, organised and process driven. · Good communication and presentation skills.
