Job Title: Field Service Engineer Location: Bedford The Role: So, what will you be doing as a Field Service Engineer? * Perform planned preventative maintenance and recommend improvements. * Adhere to a structured service rota to ensure operational efficiency. * Maintain safety standards for yourself and others, following Health & Safety regulations. * Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults. * Collaborate with engineering teams to drive innovation and continuous improvements. * Report incidents and accidents promptly, implementing preventative strategies. * Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently. What are we looking for in our next Field Service Engineer? * City & Guilds or an equivalent recognized apprenticeship (ideally with an electrical bias). * Industry Experience – Background in parcel handling, FMCG, or manufacturing. * Technical Knowledge – Familiarity with inverter drives, SCADA control, Profibus, AS-i, and PC/PLC control (preferred). * Proven Performance – Experience meeting contractual targets, PM schedules, and KPIs. * Service Excellence – Strong ability to manage and improve supply chain engineering service contracts. * Strong Communication – Clear written and verbal skills, including report writing and presentations. * Continuous Improvement Mindset – Committed to implementing best practices and driving service enhancements. * Collaboration Skills – Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external clients.
