Salary: £72,488 Per Annum (£60,119 + £12,369 Shift Allowance) Hours: 12 hr shifts 7 to 7 Location: Southampton Duration: Permanent Benefits: Excellent pension, private medical insurance, life ass., etc A world-leading industrial gases and engineering company require a Shift Manager (electrical or mechanical background) at their top tier COMAH site near Southampton. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for the control of the production plant to ensure pipeline tonnage / customer demands are met. Key responsibilities include: • Supervise, monitor, and control plant operations to meet quality and operational requirements in the most efficient manner. • Prepare, issue, monitor, and control all Permits to Work, incorporating contractors\’ method statements and risk assessments • Control and supervise contractor personnel in accordance with site rules and regulations and permit to work requirements. • Regularly inspect and check operating plant and machinery, diagnose faults, and provide feedback/raise notifications and work orders for rectification • Acts as Senior Person on Site for on and off-site emergencies and implement site Emergency Plans as required. • Lead and manage a shift team and maintain good relationships with all site personnel. • Maintain high standards of housekeeping whilst ensuring all site operations are carried out safely, and in accordance with the company and statutory operating and safety standards. • Out of hours be responsible for the site on behalf of the management team. • Contribute fully to all site and business quality, safety, and environmental initiatives. Requirements: • Suitable candidates ideally will be educated to HNC level or apprenticed trained (in electrical or mechanical plant-based field). • Detailed knowledge of Permit to Work procedures and relevant emergency plans. • Experience of shift team working on a process plant in a position of some responsibility. • A broad knowledge of Air Separation operation or similar plant is desirable. • You will need to have a sound knowledge of systems and procedures, including Operations and Engineering Standards, the SAP maintenance, purchasing and reporting system. • Proficiency in the production of regular management reports and the ability to own and manage issues of an inter-disciplinary nature will be important attributes.
