This is a rare and interesting chance to join our flagship F35 Programme.

What will I be doing?

Are you ready for a challenge that’s as rewarding as it is critical?

This operational support role places you at the heart of an active RAF Squadron, where you’ll safeguard the security and integrity of the systems that keep our cutting-edge jets in the air.

The F-35 Lightning II, the world’s premier fifth-generation fighter, is powered by more than advanced electronics and raw engine thrust.

Behind every mission, the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) is what truly enables F-35 operators to plan, maintain, and sustain their jets throughout their service life.

ALIS provides the IT backbone that supports current and future war fighters across the UK and allied forces, playing a vital role in every mission.

As a key member of the ALIS team, you’ll be part of this mission-critical operation. You will:

  • Obtain and maintain DV Clearance and Special Access Program clearance, essential for program access.
  • Support RAF Squadrons in an operational role, with the readiness and flexibility to deploy on CONDO detachments (both ship and shore) as operational needs dictate.
  • Be adaptable to work various shifts, including weekends, to meet customer mission requirements.
  • This role goes beyond the ordinary—it’s about ensuring the F-35 remains mission-ready, every day, for those who rely on it the most.

A Day in the Life:

As an ALIS Administrator within our F-35 ALIS team, working in close partnership with our customer, you will take on a variety of responsibilities across system administration, data management, and network administration.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, addressing questions, concerns, and troubleshooting reported issues.

In this role, you will manage a range of tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the ALIS system and providing critical support to both end-users and team members.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily support to users, assisting with the ALIS product suite.
  • Perform routine maintenance on systems, databases, software, firewalls, and user accounts.
  • Regularly monitor system and application availability and performance, addressing issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and reimage laptops, manage accounts, and resolve technical issues.
  • Execute backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes for systems, databases, and network infrastructure.
  • Install system-wide software updates and manage large-scale storage allocations.
  • Train ALIS administrators and users on system operations as required.
  • Review and optimise operational processes and procedures, analysing system data to improve performance.
  • Coordinate extranet equipment installations with enterprise and local communications facilities.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts, customise Splunk dashboards, and create SQL scripts to meet customer data needs, particularly for aircraft-related information.

What skills will I need?

  • Candidates must hold or be willing to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and retain COMPTIA Security + Certification.
  • We do offer this training as part of the role at our cost and we are happy to assist people in obtaining this useful qualification.
