Residential and Commercial Conveyancer | Burgess Hill, Sussex | Full Time | Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, preferably office-based | £43,000 – £48,000 per annum
Our client is a small, friendly law firm located in the heart of Sussex, in Burgess Hill, dedicated to offering a welcoming and approachable service. They are currently looking for an experienced Residential and Commercial Conveyancer to join their team in Burgess Hill.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Have a strong understanding of various areas of work, including but not limited to:
- Standard residential freehold and leasehold purchases and sales
- Remortgages, transfers of equity, lifetime mortgages, and lease extensions
- Lease renewals, assignments of leases, and surrender of leases
- Sales/purchases of small businesses and associated Company House registrations
- Possess excellent organisational skills
- Ability to interact effectively with other staff members, clients, and other professionals
- Capable of working under pressure and delegating tasks appropriately
- Willing to enhance skills and knowledge
- Eager to assist colleagues and adapt working methods when necessary
- Familiar with practice management software and proficient in using the system fully
What will your role look like?
- To conduct the day to day management of Client's matters
- To represent and promote the Firm where appropriate
- To advise clients and to have day to day conduct and control of all aspects of Client matters:
- Respond promptly to client phone calls and emails
- Keep files up-to-date, organised, and compliant
- Keep clients informed about progress and ensure matters are handled appropriately
- Continuously maintain and expand knowledge in relevant areas of expertise
- Ensure all procedures relevant to each case are followed and complied with
- Take responsibility for resolving any issues that arise in relation to the work undertaken
- Be aware of responsibilities for maintaining CQS accreditation, compliance, and the renewal process
- Be familiar with and able to use Lender Panel, LMS, and other conveyancing-related panel memberships
- Be familiar with and use SDLT and other HMRC conveyancing portals
- Be familiar with and use Land Registry Portals
- Be familiar with and use online search portals
- Support and help develop the skills of other staff members
- Contribute to the overall development of the practice
- Undertake other tasks as required in a small practice
