A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced engineer to join a high-performing team, contributing to the design, development, and proving of control algorithms within a multi-disciplinary environment. This role focuses on the development of control systems, particularly for BLDC motors, and involves modelling, requirements derivation, component selection, and design proving. The successful applicant will work alongside technical specialists and report to senior engineering leads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control algorithms for digital control systems
- Model complex real-world systems including motors, sensors, and drive electronics
- Use MATLAB/Simulink and Embedded Coder to develop deployable algorithms
- Work collaboratively to derive sub-system requirements and identify suitable components
- Define and execute design proving plans, followed by performance analysis
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in control algorithm development, ideally for BLDC motor systems
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Embedded Coder
- Ability to model electromechanical systems and evaluate performance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders
- Ideally, familiarity with motor control strategies such as FOC or SVPWM
- A solid understanding of safety-critical standards such as DO-178C / DO-331
