We have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Support Worker to join our Reception class team, supporting a pupil with a hearing impairment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed teaching assistant with experience supporting children with SEN, who already has qualifications in British Sign Language (BSL), or is willing to commit to learning BSL and working towards a qualification.
The successful candidate will work within the classroom, assist with the child\’s care needs, and implement specific programmes to support the child\’s learning. You should be flexible and a team player, supporting the pupil one-to-one, in groups, and across the whole class.

You will be required to complete a British Sign Language training course, attending classes one evening each week.
This is a term-time temporary contract for the academic year, with a high likelihood of extension if funding allows. Since the pupil will attend breakfast and after-school clubs, additional hours are available if desired. School visits are encouraged.
