Details of this position: This position is for a Curriculum Manager of English and Maths (Functional Skills) in prison education. Through focused teaching in English, maths, and ICT, this role empowers learners to gain essential skills for life beyond custody – improving their confidence, employability, and future prospects. The curriculum supports rehabilitation by helping individuals achieve recognised qualifications and develop a renewed sense of purpose. Proven experience delivering and managing Functional Skills programmes, ideally within a teaching or curriculum leadership role. A confident leader with the ability to inspire, mentor, and support a team of tutors. Strong organisational skills to oversee curriculum planning, quality assurance, and compliance with awarding body standards. A calm, inclusive, and motivational approach, with the flexibility to meet the diverse learning needs of individuals in custody. Work schedule: Full time 38.5 hours per week Salary scale: Up to £45,000 per annum Annual leave: 30 days per annum To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria: A teaching qualification (essential)Significant teaching experienceProven experience in curriculum development and changeStrong leadership and staff management skills Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach.
