We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining a high standard of service. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a van to transport goods to various locations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to scheduled routes.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes.
  • Assist in loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients upon delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Valid commercial driving licence is required, with a clean driving record.
  • Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with flatbed vehicles is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and customers.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
  • Ability to lift heavy items as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed during loading and unloading activities.

You must be ok with very early starts and have a strong stomach as at times you will be dealing with clinical waste
