Position Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Sales Specialist to join the team to drive and grow sales within our dPCR and NGS portfolio across the UK & Ireland region. The successful candidate will help shape and align the strategic plan for this portfolio group to target key customer segments including Oncology, Industrial and Academia.
The UK & Ireland sales team at QIAGEN are based throughout the UK, working from home offices and travelling to support customers within different geographic regions. Our team takes a collaborative, inclusive and innovative approach to supporting our customers and matching their needs to the best QIAGEN solution. Key responsibilities:
– Budget achievement within the UK & Ireland region. Proactively search for new business and grow our dPCR and NGS portfolios within the region.
– Identify and nurture relationships with KOLs and strategic networks in the region to identify new application areas, focusing on the Oncology and Biopharma sectors.
– Support the UK Account Management team with specialist trainings and in-field meetings to grow territory sales for dPCR and NGS.
– Effective weekly and monthly planning of field based activities. Report and forecast to Sales Management and via the customer relationship management system (CRM).
– Maintain and expand market knowledge including technology trends, commercial awareness of competitors, and latest scientific findings.
Position Requirements
– Minimum Bachelor of Science, PhD or equivalent laboratory experience advantageous. A strong background in Life Sciences and a well-developed technical aptitude in NGS and/or digital PCR is essential. Knowledge of QIAGEN products preferred.
– Relevant experience in the handling of complex sales and selling capital equipment is essential, with a demonstrable understanding of business practice in the Oncology, Biopharma industries and knowledge of relevant markets.
– Experience of creating and executing strategic business plans in a proactive manner to accomplish the planned goals, whilst prioritising urgent tasks where required.
– Committed and dependable team player who can collaborate with different teams and colleagues within QIAGEN.
– Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to and engage with customers.
– Located in the UK close to good transport connections, with a willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 60-70%. Full driving license is essential.
