We are currently seeking to fill the position of Teacher of French (Maternity Cover – 0.45FTE).

We are looking to appoint an experienced French teacher on a part-time basis to cover an internal absence due to maternity leave. The successful candidate will teach French to pupils from P7 up to S5 age groups and should have experience of teaching the National 5 curriculum.
Applicants should be passionate about Modern Foreign Languages, with excellent subject knowledge and committed to ensuring success for all.
This role has an immediate start if possible. We welcome applications from well-qualified graduates with relevant teaching qualifications and GTCS registration. I am afraid we are not in a position to offer visa sponsorship for this post therefore candidates must have the right to work in the UK independent of employer sponsorship.

Duties and responsibilities associated with all teachers at the Edinburgh Academy are:
- To plan, prepare and teach lessons to all assigned pupils according to their educational needs.
- To assess, record and report on the progress of the pupils within the guidelines written in the Staff Handbook.
- To engage with the wider School Curriculum in a manner which is consistent with the ethos of the School.
- To carry out such administrative and other routine tasks as are outlined in the Staff Handbook.
- To demonstrate a commitment to both individual professional development and to developing the curriculum in the School.
- To carry out any other duties and to assume any other responsibilities as the Rector shall from time-to-time reasonably request.
- To play a full part in the co-curricular life of the School.

Reporting
The successful applicant will report to the Head of Department on all aspects of classroom management, timetabling, teaching and learning, reporting and pupil discipline. The successful applicant will report to the Deputy Rectors on matters of whole school commitments, professional development and personal absence.
