Your new company
Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a small/medium-sized business within an interesting sector to recruit a dynamic & hands-on experienced part-time Finance Manager/Company Accountant based on the outskirts of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire towards Bourton-on-the-Water. Reporting directly to the Company Directors, you will take ownership of all accounting processes for the business, from management accounts preparation to transactional finance processes, along with business partnering with operational management. Open to full-time or part-time finance professionals who are looking for a position that they can really make their own with autonomy, adding value as the company grows further.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve preparation of management accounts with supporting reports/analysis, posting journals, reconciling control accounts, reconciling recharges, along with preparing/submitting quarterly VAT returns. You will process all sales invoices, post client receipts, deal directly with clients to agree payments terms, and manage all credit control processes. Process purchase invoices, employee expenses, payments and regularly review suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. You will prepare monthly payroll, post payroll journals, PAYE/NI payments to HMRC, along with resolving any financial queries for the business. You will process all bank transactions, bank/card reconciliations across multiple bank accounts, along with being involved in ad-hoc projects/duties for senior management. You will support process improvement by being involved in automation projects, and the role will be tailored around the right candidate with the opportunity to really make the position your own.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on Finance Manager role, you will need experience in a similar position, be comfortable managing your own workloads to meet deadlines, adaptable to business needs, with strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships at all levels. Key attention to detail with organisational skills, experience with a range of financial systems and MS Excel. A team player but also used to using your own initiative to solve problems. Experience with Xero financial systems and within small/medium-sized organisations would be advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return
This permanent Finance Manager role offers a salary between £40,000 – £47,500 per annum, dependable on experience, pro rata over 30 hours per week-based on the outskirts of Cheltenham towards Bourton-on-the-Water.
