Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Financial Controller to manage the company's accounting operations, internal control systems, and preparation of management accounts. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support strategic decision-making.
Background:
This is a new business venture for a long-established UK operator – acquiring a substantial division of a UK leisure company. With four diverse and independent income streams across 150+ sites, the acquisition will provide both challenges and opportunities to the successful applicant. This new position provides a rare, exciting and interesting opportunity to build a finance team and shape the set-up of the finance and administration process.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the finance and accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting Develop and manage business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsEnsure quality control over financial transactions and financial reportingOversee the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and reporting of variancesProvide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions Manage the month-end and year-end close processesPrepare and publish timely monthly management accountsSupervise and develop the accounting team Manage and comply with government reporting, payment of taxes and dutiesWork closely with auditors and professional advisors
Required
- Qualified accountant ACCA, CIMA, or part-qualified with good experience
- Minimum 3 years of accounting / financial management experience
