Role Overview

£50k + 10% Bonus + Company Benefits

We are seeking a motivated and numerate individual to join the property accounting team on a 12 Month FTC. The role involves overseeing desirable properties and reporting directly to the Financial Controller. Effective collaboration with various stakeholders across the business, including site teams, surveyors, and the wider finance team, is key to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all financial matters affecting the properties.
  • Produce month-end management accounts, including VAT, bank, and control account reconciliations.
  • Ensure all balances are understood monthly, specifically rent, service charge, and direct recovery funds.
  • Manage cash flow for each property to ensure suppliers can be paid.
  • Conduct service charge compliance reviews.
  • Raise income demands in accordance with internal timetables.
  • Seek improvements to departmental procedures.
  • Resolve or escalate issues on a timely basis.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and assist in setting up new sites as required.
  • Work with the property accounting team and wider finance team to achieve departmental targets and deadlines.
  • Prepare quarterly accounts for management companies and reconcile any differences.
  • Liaise with the accounts payable team to resolve outstanding service charge void invoices.
  • Produce year-end accounts and manage the service charge review process to ensure timely issuance of service charge packs.
  • Support site teams and surveyors with financial guidance, including quarterly service charge reviews, mid-year forecasts, and ad-hoc queries.
  • Provide financial support for new initiatives and commercial projects.
  • Assist with the production of annual service charge budgets in accordance with RICS guidelines.
  • Address occupier queries and support with ad-hoc reports as required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in property accounting, including RICS service charge.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with both accountants and non-accountants.
  • Comfortable taking on responsibility and working collaboratively.
  • Quick learner with a process improvement mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word, and ideally experience with Qube or similar software.
