Overview

Programme Controller with strong experience of large scale capital infrastructure projects required by a well-known, long-established company based in Sussex, providing a vital service across critical national infrastructure. This role involves working across strategic programmes focused on capital infrastructure investments, with responsibilities in planning, scheduling, cost projections and data analysis to inform decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of large infrastructure/capital projects as a Programme Controller, programme planner/analyst or similar role.
  • Analyse programme data to identify overspend trends and forecast cash flows and schedules.
  • Work across national infrastructure sectors (construction, energy, rail, highways, utilities, oil & gas, mining, etc.) to understand how programme financials operate in these settings.
  • Provide reports and analysis to the strategic leadership team, with strong Excel skills and familiarity with Oracle Primavera P6 (bonus).
  • Manage programmes with budgets in the £400m – £2bn range and contribute to asset management/capital investment decisions.

Requirements

  • Career experience as a Programme Controller, programme planner/analyst or similar role supporting the delivery of large infrastructure/capital projects.
  • Strong ability to understand programme data and draw conclusions on project overspending and forecasting.
  • Sector experience in national infrastructure backgrounds such as construction, energy, rail, highways, utilities, oil & gas, mining, etc. is essential.
  • Excellent reporting and data handling skills with strong Excel; exposure to Oracle Primavera P6 is a bonus.
  • Adept at working on large-budget asset management/capital investment programmes (£400m – £2bn).

Benefits and Location

The role offers a competitive salary of £60,000 to £75,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits. Hybrid working with ~2 days in the Brighton office; flexibility on working locations across Sussex and Kent.
