Veterinary Manager

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Manager to join our clients forward-thinking team. This role offers the chance to contribute to the well-being of laboratory-bred animals while supporting groundbreaking advancements in biomedical research.

About the Role
As the Veterinary Manager, you will lead the provision of exceptional animal care and welfare standards. You’ll manage veterinary responsibilities, oversee health monitoring programs, and collaborate with leadership to align with strategic goals.

What You’ll Be Doing

Safeguarding animal welfare by actively monitoring health and conducting routine checks Leading veterinary care programs and ensuring 24/7 support availability Performing pre-shipment health checks, surgeries, and post-mortem evaluations Advising on biosecurity and quarantine requirements Supporting training programs and mentoring veterinary staff Participating in AWERB (Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body) meetings Ensuring compliance with relevant veterinary regulations and quality systems Participate in AWERB (Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body) meetings Maintain compliance with veterinary and quality regulations, including ISO 9001 and AAALAC standards

What We’re Looking For

A qualified veterinarian (MRCVS/MVM/VMD) and RCVS member Experience in laboratory animals or veterinary practice Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Knowledge of animal husbandry, welfare standards, and regulatory compliance
