Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-established client in the Rochdale area for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a reputable and long-standing organisation that has been successfully operating for over 50 years. The business offers a competitive salary, regular weekday hours, and a supportive working environment.
Please Note: This is predominantly a paper-based role, so applicants must be confident working with manual systems and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and process the company’s weekly and monthly payroll across multiple UK locations.
Accurately compile, input, and process payroll data to ensure timely payments.
Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, including year-end activities.
Act as the primary point of contact for resolving payroll-related queries and escalations.
Maintain and follow payroll policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Stay up to date with payroll legislation and advise on required changes.
Support payroll-related administrative tasks and ad hoc projects.
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience.
Proficient in SAGE payroll systems.
Strong technical knowledge of payroll processes and legislation.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Comfortable working with paper-based systems.
