With our collaborative Contract Research Organisation (CRO), extensive Clinical Research Facility (CRF) network, and leading Therapy Development Program, we are at the forefront of supporting mental health and CNS (Central Nervous System) research, with a particular focus on psychedelic drug development.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Clinical Trial Pharmacist to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified pharmacist or someone with minimal experience in clinical trials to develop their career within an innovative organisation. The successful candidate will provide pharmacy support for clinical trials conducted in our units, contributing to high-quality patient care while learning from experienced clinical research professionals.

This role offers hands-on experience in the exciting field of clinical research, including exposure to Phase I-III trials. Comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided to help you succeed and grow in the role.

What will the Role entail?

  • Support the pharmacy clinical trials service under the supervision of experienced staff, ensuring compliance with UK Clinical Trials Regulations, GCP, GMP, GDP, and ICH guidelines.
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and archiving of clinical trials, including processing amendments accurately and efficiently.
  • Work closely with the management team, Principal Investigators, and research teams to ensure smooth trial delivery.
  • Participate in trial feasibility discussions, sharing ideas to enhance study processes and patient engagement.
  • Support the development of source documents and preparation for site visits, such as Site Initiation Visits and Pre-Study Selection Visits.
  • Help with the management of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs), including storage, labelling, and dispensing, while learning to ensure compliance with legal and GCP requirements.
  • Gain experience in working with controlled drugs under Home Office regulations, assisting with audits and applications as needed.
  • Complete training and professional development to build competency and confidence in clinical trial services.

What will you need to succeed?

  • MPharm degree or equivalent (essential).
  • GPhC registered pharmacist (essential).
  • A genuine interest in clinical research and a desire to develop expertise in this field.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is advantageous, but full training will be provided.

Interview Process

There will be an initial screening call with the recruiter, followed by a two-stage process with the Lead Pharmacist and doctor on site.
