TPF Recruitment is supporting a leading accountancy practice in their search for an Audit Assistant Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious firm where you’ll work closely with Partners and Directors, while enjoying a clear path for progression through to Senior Manager, Director and beyond.
As Audit Assistant Manager, you’ll manage your own client portfolio, lead audit assignments and take a key role in developing both trainee and qualified staff. You’ll benefit from a Partner mentor to support your personal career development, and you’ll have the opportunity to specialise in particular sectors if desired. Alongside audit, you’ll also gain exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance and wider advisory services, ensuring a varied and interesting role.
What you’ll be doing:
Managing a small to medium portfolio of audit clients
Leading audits from planning through to completion, ensuring quality and ISA compliance
Overseeing and mentoring both trainees and qualified team members
Providing feedback, coaching and supporting career development within the team
Reviewing audit files and delivering high-quality client service
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including involvement in pitches and business development opportunities
Supporting practice growth by identifying opportunities with existing clients and promoting wider services
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
Strong audit experience, including leading teams and managing audits
Experience managing a portfolio of clients and people
Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and UK Auditing Standards
Commercially aware, with the ability to communicate technical matters in a clear way
Excellent client-facing skills, with confidence at Partner and Director level
Experience with Caseware, CCH, Xero or QuickBooks (desirable)
Right to work in the UK without a visa, or the need for sponsorship
