A new opportunity has arisen within a South West local authority for an experienced Social Care professional for an initial 6-month interim period on a hybrid working basis to lead the safeguarding partnership as the Safeguarding Business Manager, working across partner providers and organisations.

Job Title: Safeguarding Business Manager
Contract Length: 6-month initial interim contract
Location: South West Local authority. Remote working.
Pay rate: £450-£500 per day (umbrella)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Your duties as a Safeguarding Business Manager:

Reporting to the Director of Adult Social Care as well as the Safeguarding Partnerships independent chair, you will lead on strategic and agenda planning for the partnership (preparation of reports and risk registers)
You will monitor and review the council’s and any other partner’s strategic plan for safeguarding.
You will ensure the Partnership’s governance arrangements are robust and that Strategic Plans and work programmes are clear, outcomes focussed and efficiently support the ability to safeguarding the local community.
You will work closely with elected members as well as partner agencies across Health, the Police, Council, Fire Service, Probation Service and voluntary and private sector organisations relating to safeguarding in the community.
Experience needed as a Safeguarding Business Manager:

Have strategic knowledge and understanding across social care as well as community safety services, being an SME across the latest statutory legislation and regulations across the Care Act and Children & Social Work Act, as well as community safety legislation.
Have past experience of working with and managing interdepartmental agencies with a focus on strategic objectives within safeguarding.
Experience working within a local authority setting.
