Warehouse Operative Fixed Term Until 31 st October
Job Overview
Regular roster of 4 on 2 off shift, availability for 7am – 3pm / 8am – 4pm / 9am – 5pm, Overtime rate of 1.5, Free onsite parking, complimentary meals and refreshments, free uniform, free life insurance, company sick pay, pension scheme. Start dates ASAP.
As a Food Packer you will support the operations by completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner while ensuring quality and meeting the required targets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To follow all operating procedures in the course of your duties to the best of your abilities.
  • To ensure the work area is kept safe and as clean as possible.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, health and safety in line with customer/company specifications
  • To ensure that the standards of cleanliness and house-keeping are within the guidelines laid down in the Company procedures.
  • To report all accidents and take the necessary preventative action.
  • To be able to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally at all levels.
  • To ensure that relevant entries are made in the diary log and that the log is checked at the beginning of each shift.
  • To be totally flexible within the role and within the unit departments.
  • Carry out quality checks with improvement action when required.
  • Assist in follow-up of Quality Assurance/Health & Safety reports.
  • To take on any other duties as and when required

SPECIFIC DUTIES BY DEPARTMENT
BOND

  • The receipt, handling and appropriate storage of all incoming goods and coordinating / managing stock.
  • Sort and assemble bars into flights, working as a team to achieve targets
  • To check trolley seals and cross check with customs paper work

Qualifications:
Education

  • Educated to High School level.

Work Experience

  • Good standard of English both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of of Basic Hygiene
  • Ideally some experience in a production/manufacturing/stores environment
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Good understanding of English both reading and writing
  • Good Customer Service skills
  • Positive attitude to work
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Team worker.

Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential. You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn. In addition to job – related training, you will develop your skills in team work, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail.
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history. For anytime spent outside the uk exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC (Criminal Record Check) for that country.
