Join a medium-sized metallurgical plant, part of a large global organisation, as an Industrial Mechanic I. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and removal of machinery and other industrial mechanical equipment within the factory. The position also includes general maintenance tasks in office environments, operating under minimal supervision and reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Day-to-day of the role:

Safely complete routine repairs, installations, and removals of mechanical equipment including jaw crushers, conveyor belts, pneumatic valves, and hydraulic systems.

Operate fixed and mobile power tools such as pillar drills, bandsaws, welding sets, lathe & mill, plasma cutters, and CNC plasma table. Utilise vehicles including counterbalance forklift trucks, articulated boom, and scissor lifts.

Respond to plant breakdowns by identifying root causes and delivering field repairs.

Interpret mechanical diagrams and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Take on additional responsibilities and duties as required by the business needs.

Level 3 equivalent qualification in engineering or workshop technology, or 3 years of experience in an industrial mechanical setting.

Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written, particularly regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.

Familiarity with the safe use of hand and power tools.

Ability to interpret risk assessments.
Desired Skills:

GCSEs in mathematics, engineering, or physics.

Machine shop experience.

Experience in welding.

Previous experience in an industrial setting.

Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
