Our long established, market leading Client based on the outskirts of Newark is looking for an Operations Supervisor (Engineering / Manufacturing) to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. They will be responsible for meeting volume targets within set time limits, aiming to exceed performance expectations and enhance the business’s objectives.

THE ROLE

The Operations Supervisor coordinates daily engineering and logistics activities, implementing standards for quality, productivity, and customer service. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing new staff selection and introducing training programs to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Improving and adjusting processes to optimise performance of departmental activities, quality and customer service.
  • Collaborating with other teams to facilitate project success and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Helping implement departmental practices, performance standards, and staffing levels with management input.
  • Contributing to strategic plans and reviews to meet operational standards.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal Operations Supervisor will have some managerial experience and be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:

  • Knowledge & experience of working within an engineering, manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • IT literate with knowledge of the Microsoft Office package with the ability to input, retrieve and analyse data.
  • Forklift licence & experience would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
