Our client is a boutique strategy consultancy specialising in customer-centric solutions for clients in the retail, travel, and leisure sectors. They help their clients drive growth, improve performance, and enhance customer experiences through market insights, commercial due diligence, strategy development, and operational transformation.
Freshminds have been retained to find a Consulting Director to head up their Travel Retail division. The successful candidate will be responsible for over seeing this flagship division of the firm.
Duties
- Financial and Team Leadership : Drive target financial performance by managing sales, project value, pricing, and profitability while leading, mentoring, and energizing teams to deliver results and foster cross-division collaboration.
- Business Development : Develop and execute strategies to achieve financial goals by building strong client relationships, identifying industry needs, and promoting the brand through thought leadership, cross-selling, and sector networking.
- Client and Analytical Excellence : Deliver innovative, data-driven solutions tailored to client needs by leveraging strategic insights, commercial analysis, and industry expertise to exceed client expectations and foster long-term partnerships.
Requirements
- Significant experience in senior commercial roles within the travel retail sector, focusing on airport terminal duty-free, retail, and F&B strategy, with expertise gained in consulting or industry/client-side roles for airport operators, investors, travel retailers, or brands.
- Demonstrated success in delivering commercial strategy initiatives, such as performance analysis, strategic planning, business development, customer insights, travel retail trends, operator needs, space optimization, tenant/category mix evaluation, retail design assessment, and revenue forecasting.
- Extensive knowledge in commercial due diligence, investment advisory, and business case creation for travel retail and airport environments, with a strong emphasis on driving profitability and maximizing commercial value.
