We’re now looking for a Head of HR to join our HR Team, on a fixed term basis for 2 years.

Reporting to the General Counsel and Corporate Services Director, the Head of HR will be integral to the newly formed Corporate Services directorate, which also includes General Counsel, Digital Services and Communications & External Affairs. Working at both strategic and operational levels across the organisation, the postholder will lead and manage the DA’s HR function, ensuring expert levels of partnering, guidance, advice and practical support in all HR matters. The postholder is also responsible for managing Security Vetting and the Business Support function.

You will be an experienced senior HR Professional, with a proven track record of leading and managing high performing HR teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels both within the organisation and across our Parliamentary stakeholders.

The following skills and experience are essential to your success in this role:

  • Experience of leading HR support in a project delivery environment (time spent supporting delivery in an infrastructure, engineering or built environment context is particularly relevant).
  • Experience of devising and successfully implementing change programmes, including different models of HR support for organisations.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement with an ability to make agile decisions, ensure that priorities are redrawn where events dictate, and deliver appropriate interventions that drive organisational change and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of delivering EDI initiatives at both a strategic and operational level.
  • Evidence of leading culture and values driven change programmes.
  • Experience using data to inform decisions, identify trends, and measure success.
  • Evidence of being a role model and champion for organisational values and behaviours and embedding these into all areas of work.

Salary circa £100,000 per annum

Successful candidates will be required to complete security vetting to a minimum Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) level obtained through the Parliamentary Security Department (PSD). Candidates are required to pass these checks before a start date can be confirmed.
