Job Description

We’re working with a leading healthcare communications agency to find an experienced Principal Medical Writer ready to take the lead on high-impact projects. This is a senior role with real influence – perfect for someone who thrives on strategic thinking, mentoring others and delivering scientifically rigorous content.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading content development across key accounts, ensuring scientific excellence and strategic alignment.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, offering insights across therapy areas and publication planning.
  • Overseeing and mentoring junior writers, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
  • Driving project delivery, managing timelines, budgets and team capacity.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, medical experts and internal teams.

About you:

  • Proven experience as a Senior/Principal Medical writer in a medical communications agency with publications experience
  • Strong scientific background (life science degree; MSc/PhD preferred but not essential)
  • Confident communicator with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable leading teams and managing multiple projects
  • Deep understanding of industry standards and compliance
