My client is a Leading Private Debt Fund specialising in direct lending, mezzanine finance, etc. They are a well-backed and rapidly growing organisation with a strong track record of success. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. Although we are looking for experience, we are also considering Newly Qualified Accountants.
About the Role:
The Financial Controller will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of its financial reporting. This is a hands-on role with a broad scope of responsibilities, providing a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to the firm’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including consolidated financial statements, for internal and external reporting purposes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Prepare and analyse financial forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify areas for cost optimisation.
- Analyse revenue trends and performance drivers.
- Develop a strong understanding of fund finance operations and interact with fund administrators.
- Oversee the management of fund cash flows and investor distributions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., AIFMD, UCITS).
- Monitor and assess regulatory changes and their impact on the firm’s operations.
- Oversee VAT compliance and liaise with external VAT consultants.
- Oversee outsourced payroll functions.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
