As Deputy Chief People Officer, you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering the Trust people strategy and lead transformational change across the organisation.
Your work will be essential in addressing the workforce challenges facing the NHS while helping create exciting new opportunities. Ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and engagement of our staff, while keeping patients at the centre of everything we do, is a key priority.

Main duties of the job
- Provide leadership, vision and direction for the Workforce & OD directorate.
- Support and deputise for the Chief People Officer and ensure delivery of the Workforce & OD strategy through the formulation and delivery of operational plans.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the team leads, ensuring that they are supported to meet their role and team objectives while maintaining effective and supportive Workforce & OD directorate relationships across all areas.
- Support innovative transformative workforce plans that are also aligned to new ways of working and the assumptions in the workforce strategy.
- Embed a culture where advice provided in relation to operational HR policies and procedures is based on expertise and is supportive, considerate and adds value.
- Lead and support efficiency and expertise when managing employee relations cases ensuring that consideration is given to equality, timescales and a constructive approach alongside a reasonable outcome.

- Chartered CIPD Member or Fellow
- Honours Degree/Level 7 or equivalent in Human Resource Management/ Learning & Development or the equivalent comparable HR experience
Experience

- Experience deputising or working as a deputy director in a workforce function
- Previous NHS HR management/HR business partner experience including medical HR at a senior level
- Sound understanding of diversity issues and commitment to advance equality through all work
