About the Role:
As an Account Director , you will be the primary commercial and strategic engagement point for public sector accounts, responsible for driving revenue growth and building long-term client relationships. This role focuses on identifying opportunities within existing accounts, cross-selling and upselling services, and ensuring your clients’ success through innovative and tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with public sector clients, acting as their trusted advisor.
- Drive new business opportunities within an assigned account base, leveraging your understanding of public sector procurement frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with Pre-sales, Product Groups, and Service Delivery teams to deliver client-focused solutions.
- Lead account development plans, ensuring accurate CRM pipeline management.
- Conduct regular customer cadence, quarterly business reviews, and strategy sessions to align with client needs.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profitability while delivering exceptional client value.
- Partner with the marketing team to design and execute targeted campaigns and events strategies.
- Mentor and support junior sales team members to foster a collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in account management , preferably in public sector-focused roles.
- Proven ability to communicate and influence key stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.
- Deep understanding of UK public sector procurement frameworks and industry challenges.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and a data-driven approach to account management.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to strategically challenge the status quo and deliver results.
- Excellent networking, communication, and prioritisation skills.
