Job Purpose
The St. Johnstone Community Trust has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join our team as an Education Delivery Officer. This role involves delivering a range of school-based and community learning programmes which support children, young people, and families in developing essential META Skills, STEM skills, and resilience through engaging, hands-on activities.
You will lead whole-class sessions, targeted small groups, and structured out-of-class learning, across a variety of primary school age groups, using tools such as LEGO, Sphero BOLT robots, and team-building exercises. The role also contributes to our wellbeing projects, including intergenerational events which connect children and older adults through shared learning experiences.
As a representative of the Trust, you’ll build positive relationships with schools, families, and community partners to help improve local quality of life by reducing inequalities, improving life chances, and giving children the best start in life.
Job Role & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging whole-class, small group, and out-of-class activities across school and community settings.
- Use learning tools such as mindfulness, physical activity, LEGO Six Bricks, Sphero BOLT robots, and other interactive resources to support the development of STEM, META Skills, and resilience.
- Lead team-building activities, games, and structured play which promote social and emotional development.
- Support the planning and delivery of intergenerational activities, encouraging cross-generational learning and empathy between children and their adults.
- Develop and deliver the Trust’s alternative holiday camp programme, including LEGO Clubs and Cardboard Creation Clubs.
- Prepare, maintain, and organise all project materials and resources to ensure high-quality delivery, efficiency, and well-structured delivery.
- Support the implementation of trauma-informed and inclusive practices, with an understanding of the needs of children with SEBN (Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Needs).
- Build positive relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluating through observations, feedback, and basic data collection.
- Collaborate with teachers, youth workers, and other Trust staff to ensure quality, relevant delivery.
- Represent the Trust at community events, school open days, and public engagement opportunities, promoting our values and building strong local connections.
- Contribute to team meetings, training, and project planning discussions.
- Work towards achieving project KPIs and desired outcomes.
- Ensure all activities follow Trust safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection policies.
- Undertake any additional duties as reasonably requested by the Senior Management Team.
