Base pay range

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Support Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking technology company, delivering innovative software solutions to clients across multiple sectors. You’ll play a key role in ensuring cloud platforms remain secure, stable, and high-performing, while driving automation and process improvements. This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the office, with the rest working remotely.

Location: Ludlow, Shropshire – hybrid, 2 days per week in the office

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum + benefits + performance bonus

Requirements for Cloud Support Engineer:

  • Commercial experience managing Azure and AWS environments
  • Skilled in writing and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Proficient with Ansible and confident in maintaining clean, efficient playbooks
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPNs, firewalls, and proxies
  • Ability to troubleshoot across Windows, Active Directory, and complex cloud setups
  • Experience with SQL Server, SMTP, IIS, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of cloud security standards such as ISO27001 and PCI-DSS
  • Experience using ticketing systems (e.g. Jira) and improving support workflows
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Passion for automation and an openness to exploring AI tools to streamline operations

Beneficial experience:

  • Knowledge of backup solutions, DNS configuration, and system performance optimisation
  • Experience collaborating with DevOps teams on software releases
  • Familiarity with AI’s potential to enhance operational efficiency

Responsibilities for Cloud Support Engineer:

  • Manage and resolve infrastructure-related support tickets, identifying root causes quickly
  • Build and maintain highly available cloud environments using automation tools
  • Troubleshoot and optimise Azure and AWS components
  • Support software releases in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Implement and maintain cloud security best practices
  • Drive automation across infrastructure and deployment processes
  • Document fixes, update internal knowledge bases, and improve support workflows
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and security
